Beach Bums and BBQ's

Each year when we go away one thing is a must: A Beach BBQ.
Now my Grandparents are a bit older we have the BBQ outside the house and then retire to the beach for a fire and marshmallow roasting.
We didn't do much with the meat this year, but M caught a corker of a Seabass so that took centre stage. We stuffed it with oranges, garlic and onion which was amazing.
We also wrapped the mackerel we caught in foil and buried it in the centre of the beach fire to cook, another beautifully simple but unbelievably tasty dish.
To top it all off we had the cheesecake which we made for G's birthday and marshmallows.

^ A west country classic...

We built the fire and watched the sun go down.

English Summer

Get ready for a few beach based posts...
I headed down to west wales recently for a couple of days. I've been going to the same place for the last 19 years and its become a second home to me and my family.
I decided I wanted to make the most of being by the sea and swim every day, so on one particularly clear evening I took the camera with me.

I'm still using the Olympus and loving it, I played around with the different setting and even took a bit of video which came out beautifully!

I however can not rock the wet hair look so photo's of me in the sea are generally a bit sketchy which I apologise for!

W3

Today we pulled our wetsuits on grabbed our boards and bounded down to the sea to go surfing only to find absoloutly no waves.
So we wandered along the beach picking up some crabs as we went, before retiring for some of the best hot chocolate you will find.
